Cemetery Blessings This Past Sunday......
Father Igor and his son, Maxim, arrived at East Ridgelawn Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. and started the Panikhida. Assisting with the responses was choir director, Maryann Stagen. Singers included Nick Kovalycsik, Helen Baron, and Betty Ann Fechisin. Inclement weather last Sunday prevented our usual practice of blessing the graves on St. Thomas Sunday. Today was glorious; warm sun, gentle breezes, beautiful company. It is so important for all of us to remember fondly those who have fallen asleep in the Lord. Once a year we gather at the cemetery to bless the graves of our family members, our friends and former parishioners and to pray for them all. If you were unable to attend today, it is always possible and encouraged to pray for your loved ones at a Panikhida at our church. You need only to contact Fr. Igor. Remember those you love who have fallen asleep in the Lord as you would want your loved ones to remember you. We sing: “Thou only Creator who, with wisdom profound, mercifully orders all things, and gives unto all that which is useful: Give rest, O Lord, to the soul of Thy servant who hath fallen asleep; for he/she/they have placed their trust in Thee, our Maker and Fashioner, and our God!” Pictures are in the Photo Gallery.
