Happy Birthday Sofia, Happy Father's Day to our Dads..........

June 12 was little Sofia Kseniuk’s second birthday.  The little sweetheart of St. John’s parish was center of attraction at a party hosted by her parents, Father Igor and Matushka Anna and brother Maxim.  Following Divine Liturgy, parishioners were invited to enjoy a delicious lunch and a birthday cake for dessert.  May God grant Sofia, Maxim, Fr. Igor and Mat. Anna Many Years!  Pictures are in the Photo Gallery.

Prayer for our children:  “O God, our heavenly Father, Who lovest mankind, and art most merciful and compassionate, have mercy upon our children, Sofia and Maxim (names), for whom I humbly pray  Thee, and commend them to Thy gracious protection.  Be Thou, O God, their guide and guardian in all their endeavors; lead them in the path of Thy truth, and draw them near to Thee, that they may lead a godly and righteous life in Thy love and fear; doing Thy will in all matters.  Give them grace that they may be temperate, industrious, diligent, devout and charitable.  Defend them against the assaults of the enemy, and grant them wisdom and strength to resist all temptation and corruption of this life; and direct them in the way of salvation for the merits of Thy Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, and the intercessions of his Holy Mother, and Thy blessed saints.  Amen.”

On June 19 we sang for all our fathers, God-fathers, and grandfathers who are with us and prayed for them all.  Following Divine Liturgy Greg Cahayla presented each of the men with a bottle of wine as a Father’s Day gift.  Pictures are in the Photo Gallery  included in the pictures of Sofia’s birthday party.  For all our men:  “Thou, O Christ, art Thyself the fulfillment of all good things!  Fill the souls of Thy fathers with joy and gladness, and save us, for Thou art all-merciful.”

We also prayed for all those fathers, God-fathers, and grandfathers who have fallen asleep in the Lord.  May their Memory be Eternal!   Vecnaja Pomjat!

Joined Pre-Sanctified Liturgy at our Parish - 6:30 p.m.

Come and hear the hauntingly beautiful Lenten “Hymn of the Entrance” heard only at the pre-sanctified Liturgy. “Now the powers of heaven do serve invisibly with us. Lo, the King of Glory enters. Lo, the mystical sacrifice is upborne, fulfilled.” The mystical passion of...
