"O" Club Annual Luncheon Honoring Peter and Florence Junda

At noon on Sunday, September 18, 2011, the Passaic “O” Club held their annual luncheon at the Tiramisu Restaurant in Elmwood Park.  Earlier, following Divine Liturgy, members of our church choir each received an award from the Liturgical Music Commission of the Orthodox Church in America, Diocese of New York and New Jersey, for 20 or more years of singing in the choir.  Peter and Florence both received these awards for their constant devotion to the choir for over 20 years each.  In fact, their years of membership in the choir reach back in time to our old parish on Jackson Street.

Their loyalty to the church is substantiated by the fact that Peter was a life-long member of the Board of Trustees and President of the Board several times.   At this luncheon they were honored for this same constant devotion they also displayed for the “O” Club.  Peter has served as its national president and has devoted time and effort throughout the years for its enhancement.  Florence has been an important part of our club with her work at all our events and her tireless efforts with our church food pantry.  Pictures of the luncheon are in the Photo Gallery.

Peter and Florence will be moving to North Carolina at the end of the month to be near their daughter, Cathy.  They are an integral part of our parish and our club, and they will be sorely missed.  We all wish them the very best and may God grant them Many Years!
