Pascha at St. John's.........

CHRIST IS RISEN! INDEED HE IS RISEN! The Sermon of St. John Chrysostom starts by saying: “If any man be devout and loveth God, let him enjoy this fair and radiant triumphal feast. If any man be a wise servant, let him rejoicing enter into the joy of his Lord.” Here at St. John’s, being wise servants who love God, we came together to enjoy this fair and radiant triumphal feast.

Our joy was greatly increased as we were blessed to have his Eminence Archbishop Michael join us for the Divine Liturgy. His presence always adds to the spirituality and piety of our services. Many friends and relatives of our parishioners were in attendance also and we are always happy to see visitors and welcome them all here at St. John’s.

Following Divine Liturgy, baskets filled with Paschal foods were blessed in the hall and everyone stayed for an Easter Luncheon arranged by Helen Baron and her crew. Thanks to Helen and her helpers, it was a wonderful gathering with friendly people and good food. On Bright Monday morning, following Divine Liturgy, a procession of children carrying icons, and parishioners walked around the church, listening to Gospel readings, and witnessing Father blessing the church on four sides. Pictures are in the Photo Gallery.
