St. John's Journey to Pascha......

During our voyage to Pascha, our path took us through repentance to our reconciliation with God.  We were given the example of penitence by St. Mary of Egypt, and we learned humility from the Publican and the Pharisee.   St. John Climacus encouraged us to continue the spiritual struggle by means of steps unto the height of Heaven, and we were shown the loving forgiveness of a father so glad to see his errant son, that he ran to embrace him on his return home and gave him a feast.   We witnessed a love so strong and passionate, that the Son of God was willing to endure severe and painful punishment and died willingly an excruciating and humiliating death for us all.

But now we have experienced the joy of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.   Joy and happiness fill our hearts as we greet each other:    CHRIST IS RISEN!    INDEED HE IS RISEN!   In His victory on the Cross, Christ broke the bondage of sin, and through faith offers  us love, peace and eternal life.  May the peace and love of Christ be with you always.

Pictures of the journey are in the Photo Gallery.
