This is May 2025 and we are just a few months away from our 100th Anniversary. This is a milestone year for St. John’s.
"But I through the abundance of Thy steadfast love will enter Thy house, I will worship toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee."
We have done that for 100 years and the hundred’s of people who have worked for St. John’s and kept the doors open for the many who worshiped here throughout that time, and still work there now, are to be commended for their love and devotion to our church. On this, our 100th year, our population of parishioners, though devoted and consistent, has diminished and our ability to continue as we have, depended on our rental of the school building.
Members of our families have been married here, babies of our parishioners have been baptized here, and our beloved family members and friends have been buried from here. It is our fundamental love of God that keeps the small group here together.
"I will wash my hands in innocence; so I will go about Your altar, O Lord, that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wondrous works. Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. ( Psalm 26:6-8)
We all love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. Your house is the foundation of our being. Our love for You spreads to all those around us and we are bound to each other by Your very strong love for us all. We have just glorified The Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are now awaiting the Ascension.
Near the end of Jesus’ mission after the Resurrection and close to His Ascension, Jesus met with his eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee and Matthew 28:16-20 reports: “Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” (Matt 28:16-20) This was His Great Commission.
Join us on this special day May 29 and worship with us.
