MAY AT ST. JOHN'S......

May 20, 2019

May 5 was the first Sunday after Pascha and is called St. Thomas Sunday.  The schedule for that day included grave blessings at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.  However, due to very heavy rain that day, it was postponed and the grave blessings were done on Monday, May 6.  The weather was clear and pleasant and surprisingly dry.   The following Sunday, May 12, was Mother's Day and  little gifts were distributed to the women at church that day.  How fitting that that Sunday was dedicated to "The Myrrhbearing Women" who came to anoint the body of Jesus at the tomb.  They were the first to know that Christ is Risen!    To all the mothers and women who were at church that day, may God grant all of you Many Years!

St. Andrew of Crete

St. Andrew of Crete -  Trumpeting forth divine melodies, you were shown as a far-shining luminary for the world. You shone forth with the radiant light of the Trinity, O Venerable Andrew. Therefore we all cry to you: "Do not cease to intercede for us all.
