The feast of Christ's Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, Palm Sunday, is one of the twelve major feasts of the Church. Jesus is entering Jerusalem as King, acclaimed by joyful shouts of praise and, on this feast, remembering those who placed palms on the path before Him, branches of willows or palms are blessed. Parishioners carry the willows throughout the service and later take them home to be placed in a special place.
