Candles at St. John's.......

“O LORD , I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwells.” (Ps 26:6-8)

It is with tears in our eyes and a longing in our hearts that we continue to adhere to the edicts set before us by those in authority. It is necessary to continue our isolation in our homes to help those who may be affected by our venturing out. So here we are with Palm Sunday soon approaching within days, unable to attend our church. But there are no restrictions set before us concerning prayers and spiritual activity. Live streaming on our facebook page of all the services at St. John’s will be accessible to those who have available a computer and a facebook account. The facebook page is: St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.

It is also possible to have Father Maryan and his family light candles on your behalf during these services. Please send a note to Fr. Maryan at the rectory with instructions for the candles you wish to buy and when you desire to have them lit.  Larger candles are $2 each, thin candles are $1 each and the little red votives are $.50 each. Please send all correspondence to Father at the rectory.  Also, if you wish to send any donations to the church, they can also be sent to Father Maryan at the rectory.  Sadly, our financial responsibilities do not change with the current event.

We here at St. John’s have been richly blessed in ways too numerous to count and we thank God for His abundance on our behalf. “I will offer to Thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people…” (Ps 116:17-18)   And all His people are bonded together in prayer wherever they are.  May God's Blessings be upon you and keep you safe.

Mike

Moleben to the Theotokos - 9:00 AM

O blessed Theotokos, open the doors of compassion to us whose hope is in you, that we may not perish but be delivered from adversity through you, who are the salvation of the Christian people.
