SEMINARIAN FAMILY ST. NICHOLAS PROJECT
This year’s theme for activities has been “cancelled due to Corona” but the FOCA was determined not to cancel the St. Nicholas Wish list project. For over 20 years we have filled the wish lists of hundreds of seminarian families and this year was not going to be any different! Due to the pandemic, shopping for lists was not going to be feasible. An appeal went out across the country to all chapters, districts and parishes. What happened was short of a miracle.
Over $16,000 was collected and distributed to 35 married seminarian families (90 children) here in the “lower 48”.
Over $3,000 was sent to St. Herman’s seminary in Alaska.
Thank you seems trivial for such an overwhelming accomplishment. You have touched the lives of many families, many of whom you will never meet but know in your heart they thank you and love your for your generosity. Almost $20,000 collected during a pandemic is truly the work of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! May you all have a Most Blessed Nativity.
THANK YOU!
Our FOCA Passaic “O” Chapter coordinator for this project was Betty Ann Fechisin. Through her energetic efforts, we here at St. John’s collected $800 for this seminarian families St. Nicholas collection this year. Many thanks to Betty Ann for her work and success in this important project.
