"And she brought forth her firstborn Son,and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."   (Luke 2:6-7)     So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:  "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,"  which is translated, "God with us."  (Matthew 22-23)   And he called His name Jesus.   (Matthew 1:25)


When You, O Lord were baptized in the Jordan,

Orthodoxy Sunday at St. John's .......
The Sunday of Orthodoxy Deanery Vespers on March 1 was held here at St. John's. His Eminence, Metropolitan Joseph of the Antiochian Archdiocese was homilist. Responses were sung by the Spirit of Orthodoxy Choir and by a Pan-Orthodox Choir from St. Anthony Church in Bergenfield.
