Welcome to our Church

I will wash my hands in innocence; so I will go about Your altar, O Lord,

that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,

and tell of all Your wondrous works.

Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house,

and the place where Your glory dwells.

Psalm 26:6-8

Welcome to our Church

"And she brought forth her firstborn Son,and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."   (Luke 2:6-7)     So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:  "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,"  which is translated, "God with us."  (Matthew 22-23)   And he called His name Jesus.   (Matthew 1:25)

When You, O Lord were baptized in the Jordan,

The worship of the Trinity was made manifest

For the voice of the Father bore witness to You

And called You His beloved Son.

Welcome to our Church

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise!

Give thanks to Him, bless His name!

For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever,

and His faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100: 4-5

Welcome to our Church

O magnify the LORD with me,

and let us exalt His name together!

Psalm 34:3

Welcome to our Church

Praise the LORD!

Praise Him with sounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!

Let everything that breathes praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD!

Psalm 150:5-6

Welcome to our Church

And all who believed were together

and had all things in common;

Acts 2:44

Welcome to our Church

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

Today we begin our journey to Pascha. Great Lent and Pascha is that time of the year when the reality of Christ and our faith and hope in Him particularly confronts us.

News from St. John's......
The Church designates the day before Lent as the Sunday of Forgiveness. The Church in Her infinite wisdom expresses to us that no one can experience any form of spiritual renewal or increased relationship with God without first forgiving one another. Let us mutually protect one another to reach our destination. Essentially we should live to what God calls us, as a unique unity with the forgiveness that we offer to others.”

News from St. John's......Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
I pray that January of 2018 is not just the beginning of another month or year, but it is the beginning of a newly strengthened faith. May we all reflect on our baptism, our faith, and our involvement in the life of the Church, so that we might reveal within ourselves the immeasurable blessings that God continues to bestow upon us all. May it be a happy and healthy 2018 New Year to you and all your families!

Great Vespers - 6:00 p.m.

Great Vespers for Sunday Divine Liturgy - Prayer:  We, unworthy recipients of Thy benefits and gifts, as unprofitable servants dare to turn to Thee, O Master, bringing Thee thanks and glorifying and hymning Thee, the Benefactor and Creator: glory to Thee, O most bountiful God.
