"And she brought forth her firstborn Son,and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."   (Luke 2:6-7)     So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:  "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,"  which is translated, "God with us."  (Matthew 22-23)   And he called His name Jesus.   (Matthew 1:25)


When You, O Lord were baptized in the Jordan,

Happy 50th Anniversary Robert and Betty Czech!
The President of our Board of Trustees Robert Czech and his wife Elizabeth celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary on Friday, March 14. On Sunday, March 16, the loving couple was joined by their wonderful children and grandchildren for the Divine Liturgy and coffee hour that followed.

On Wednesday, March 12, St. John's hosted the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. Assisting Father Igor was Father Stephen Evaninia, Father Matthew Brown and Father Stephen Kaznica. A Lenten meal was served in the chuch hall following the service.

Forgiveness Vespers at St. John's.......
We have begun the Great Fast. In preparation, all our parishioners were invited to a Maslenitsa in our Church Hall after Divine Liturgy on March 2. Following the delicious meal, we all went back to the church to start the Great Fast with Forgiveness Vespers.

On Sunday, following Divine Liturgy, St. John's Church held the annual parish meeting. Attendance was good despite the cold and snow accummulation. The lot was plowed and everyone had a place to park.
