Wonderful service for the Nativity of St. John the Baptist Day here at St. John’s.  On June 24, 2026, we celebrated the Day of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, our Parish Feast Day.  His Eminence Archbishop Michael was the main celebrant, and the following priests were serving:  V. Rev. Archpriest Terence Baz; Rev. Volodymyr Chaikivskyi; Rev Bohdan Chaikivskyi; V. Rev. Maryan Chaykivsky and Subdeasons Andrew Karglat; Brendan Allatta, Christopher Minarich and Altar Servers Christopher Kary, Michael Chaykivsky and Simeon Giraffen .  Following the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, a wonderful meal was served in the Parish Hall.  We thank our choir, altar servers, and all those who prepared the food, and those who attended this beautiful and blessed service.

The flowers adorning the icon of St. John the Baptist on his Nativity Day on the center tetrapod and the front icons of Jesus Christ and Holy Theotokos were given by Rose Marie Petrow, Maryann Stagen and Betty Czech.   We sincerely thank them with payers for God’s blessing always.

We pray for all our fellow parishioners, and we pray especially for those who are incapable of being with us in church.  Please keep in your prayers our Brothers and Sisters in Christ:  Genevieve, Margaret, Effie, Maryann, Astrid, Richard and Janet, and Maria

The following statement was issued at the 2026 Spring Session of the Holy Synod of Bishops on April 30, 2026 on the Occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.    A portion of that statement is here to remind us all of July 4th, Independence Day.  It is also the birthday of our beloved parishioner Maryann Stagen whose birthday is also on July 4.  God bless Maryann and God bless America.

GIVING THANKS TO GOD FOR THIS LAND

We give thanks to Almighty God for the United States of America—a nation that has, by the grace of God, afforded its people the freedom to worship, to follow the way of Jesus Christ, and to bear witness to the Gospel without fear or compulsion. We do not take these gifts for granted. They are blessings of divine providence, entrusted to us as a sacred responsibility. The freedom to gather in our churches, to catechize our children in the Faith, to proclaim the Resurrection of Christ openly and without hindrance—these are gifts for which every generation must give thanks to God and remain worthy stewards.
